(Lands & Indian Registry Administration) Our office is away from the main administration office. We are located about 100 yards west from the Sweetgrass General Store. In this office we handle everything pertaining to lands. Since we lease all our reserve lands we use the lease permitting system through Indigenous Services Canada. Every five years these permits are renewed. It does not automatically go to the person who has been farming it.  However in times where we don't put out tenders for these lands we negotiate with the farmer and generally get a better price than previously. The general reserve population also come here for legal land discriptions, most crown corporations now require a new applicant to provide a legal land location for where they want the service. Sask Tel, SaskPower and SaskEnergy and sometimes the satellite companies are the ones that usually ask for a legal land location.  Outfitting is also taken care of through our office.

All aspects of Indian Registry Administration are handled through this office.  We register new born babies through here as well as marriages, divorces and deaths. We issue status cards on Mondays and Wednesdays. The I.D. requirements remain the same. Two pieces of indentification are needed, of which has to have a picture. Drivers license as well as old status cards are sufficient.  The secondary I.D. we use a guarantor form which can be signed by the income assistance worker, the Chief or one of the Councillors.

We can be reached at 306-937-3611 or 306-937-3614. Our fax number is 306-937-3614.  Myself, Juliette Fineday and Charisma Vandal work out of this office.
