Sweetgrass First Nations Elders Gathering 2024
In October 2024, a video was produced to highlight the Sweetgrass Elder’s Retreat, honoring our esteemed elders. Recognizing their invaluable wisdom, we sought their guidance and advice during our discussions on Bill C-92. Special thanks to Warshield for producing the video and facilitating the discussions. We are deeply grateful to our respected elders for graciously participating!
Bill C-92, also known as An Act respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families, establishes a legislative framework for the provision of child and family services to Indigenous communities across Canada. The primary goal of this legislation is to reduce the number of Indigenous children in care and ensure they remain connected to their families, communities, and cultures.
