Post Secondary & Advanced Education Coordinator

As the Post Secondary & Advanced Education Coordinator, Sonya works with Sweetgrass members who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, those preparing to attend, and she also works closely with the post secondary institutions. Her work ensures that Sweetgrass members are given a fair opportunity to receive funding. Sonya's regular work day involves:
- Handling inquiries on all aspects of post secondary and advanced education
- Receiving & processing applications for various universities, colleges, technical institutions, and all post-graduate education
- Processing tuition invoices for accepted students
- Setting up bookstore accounts for required textbooks/supplies.
- Visiting the grade 12 graduates to discuss any questions they may have on applying for post secondary
- Applying annually for Summer Student and Skills Link workers through the First Nation & Inuit Youth Employment Strategy(FNIYES) Program

Convocation & Post Secondary Graduation

All graduates who are convocating will receive an honourarium to offset costs and will receive an invitation to attend a celebration that honouring all graduates from Sweetgrass First Nation
