Azariah D. Wins School Poster Contest

This fall, Sweetgrass School hosted a poster contest for the students on the theme, "Sober Life." Many of you have probably noticed the billboard on School Road already, as it was put up in December before school closed for the holidays. Here is a write-up of the poster winner:
Azariah D. is a 14-year-old Grade 8 student at Sweetgrass School. She was inspired to draw her experience with the Jingle Dress for her submission in the Sober Life poster contest. This is where her passion lies: the powwow circle. Sweetgrass First Nation is well known for the traditional powwows held during the summertime on our very own powwow grounds and for the cultural teachings of living a powwow lifestyle. This is something that Azariah has shown an interest in and plans on dancing in future summers.
